Upon arrival at Dublin Airport you will pick up your rental car.
Depending on the time of day, I recommend a trip to the Howth peninsula. There are seals living in the harbor and they are happy to pose for a photo. Howth is also well known for its fresh seafood. There are a number of restaurants in the harbor.
After having eaten you can go for a nice walk along the Cliffs.
You continue to Dublin and check into your centrally located hotel.

Like many before us we were curious, so step by step we entered into the world of Leprechauns, otherworld creatures and magical places. Time began to slow down and ancient history became as real as yesterday. This is a world of stories some of them are true but all are real.
We wanted to create a space for these stories and their intangible heritage. A museum of imagination, a place for stories in the landscape, a place for people to hear living, breathing ancient stories.

From North to East via a Castle
Today you will be returning to Dublin. If time permits, visit the biggest remaining Norman Castle in Ireland – Trim Castle.
Then make your way to Dublin Airport and hand back your rental car.

Trim Castle
Few places in Ireland contain more medieval buildings than the heritage town of Trim. Trim Castle is foremost among those buildings.
In fact, the castle is the largest Anglo-Norman fortification in Ireland. Hugh de Lacy and his successors took 30 years to build it.
The central fortification is a monumental three-storey keep. This massive 20-sided tower, which is cruciform in shape, was all but impregnable in its day. It was protected by a ditch, curtain wall and water-filled moat.
Modern walkways now allow you to look down over the interior of the keep – a chance to appreciate the sheer size and thickness of the mighty castle walls.
The castle is often called King John’s Castle although when he visited the town he preferred to stay in his tent on the other side of the river. Richard II visited Trim in 1399 and left Prince Hal later Henry V as a prisoner in the castle.
